I have always wanted to be a Special education teacher. These students who face challenges every day and never give up continue to inspire me and fill my heart with joy. I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Psychology and one in Child Development. I went to Cal State LA for grad school and got my Masters in Early Childhood Special Education. I believe in early intervention and was lucky enough to start with DPS in 1996, teaching Special ed kindergarten. I switched to pre-school about 8 years ago. This is my fifth year at Ellis.
You may not know that I adopted two daughters when they were 5 and 7 years old. They are all grown up now. One is married with two children and the other is engaged. I love to spend time with my family, especially my grandchildren – Mason, who is 4 and Mila, who is 2. We enjoy cooking, spending time outside and playing games.
