Support Teachers

Family: I am married and have three daughters: Emma who is 7, Kayleigh who is 4 and Brianna who is 1.

Colleges/Degrees: I have my undergraduate degree in Behavioral Sciences from Metropolitan State College, and my masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver.

Why I work in education: I work in education because I love watching students learn, and I love how every single day is different.

Education career path (how long you’ve been a teacher/in education; how long in DPS): This is my 11th year working in DPS. I started as a math tutor, then participated in the Denver Teacher Residency to get my teaching license. I taught third grade for 2 years, and I have taught technology and stem for the last 7. I love being a specials teacher because you get to watch students grow over many years.

Hobbies/In my spare time: I enjoy going out to dinner with my husband and with friends. I enjoy taking walks with my girls and playing with them. We also love to go up to Breckenridge to spend time in the mountains.

Something you’d be surprised to know about me: I have my black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do
