Yo soy de la capital Chihuahua, Chihuahua, México donde estuve hasta los 15 años. Luego me mudé a El Paso, Texas y terminé mi último año de preparatoria en Highlands Ranch High School y mi primer año de carrera en Community College de Denver. Luego regresé a Chihuahua para completar la licenciatura en Ciencias de la Educación y posteriormente regresé a Denver en el 2017. Además, obtuve el certificado TESOL que se traduce como enseñar Inglés como segundo idioma en la Universidad de San Diego en California. Finalmente, estudié la maestría en Educación con énfasis en lectura en la Universidad de Regis.
Why I work in education: Me gusta ser maestra porque cada día es diferente, cada día veo cómo los estudiantes avanzan y se desempeñan de manera única. Además, me gusta inspirar y ayudar a que los estudiantes alcancen su mejor versión.
Education career path (how long you’ve been a teacher/in education; how long in DPS): Durante los primeros 3 años de estar en educación fui maestra de Ingles de Kinder a primer grado. Después, intervencionista de lectura en inglés de Kinder a 5to grado por 3 años. Actualmente, es mi primer año en el distrito de las escuelas públicas de Denver y mi primer año que enseño Español.
Hobbies/In my spare time: Me gusta hacer ejercicio todos los días, unas veces voy al gimnasio y otras veces a la montaña. Además, tengo una perrita que se llama Luna, ella tiene 5 años y nos gusta estar en la naturaleza, ya sea haciendo senderismo, bicicleta en montaña o acampar. También, me gusta leer libros de ciencias (neurociencia, biología y biología marina).
Something you’d be surprised to know about me: Me gusta viajar a un país diferente cada año o viajar a un estado diferente en México.
I was born and raised in Mexico, I came to the USA at the age of 15 years old. I attended high school here, and the Community College of Denver, then I returned to Mexico to finish my bachelor’s degree. I decided to return back to Denver in 2017, where I taught at AXL Academy (K-1rst), Landmark Academy (K-3 reading interventionist), and Sixth Avenue Elementary (K-5th reading interventionist). In the meantime, I obtained the TESOL certification (Teaching English as a Second Language), and the master’s degree from the University of Regis.
Hobbies/In my spare time: I love to exercise everyday for my mental health, and well being. I have a dog named Luna, and we love to hike, and camp. I also like to mountain bike twice a month. In addition, I love to read books about science (biology, marine biology, neuroscience, non- fiction stories).
