Hola! Soy Julie Padilla. Originally from California and a graduate of Stanford University, I am the daughter of Mexican immigrants (mi familia es de Jalisco) and the mother of three boys (Rio, Kai, and Narrah). I moved to Colorado about 13 years ago, got a job as the school secretary at my son’s school in Boulder, and became a teacher the following year. I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at Gust Elementary for eight years and then was the assistant principal at Bryant-Webster ECE-8 Dual Language School for three years before coming to Ellis Elementary to take on the role of Principal Resident. When I’m not working, I like to read, play board games with my children, dance Ballet Folklórico Mexicano, do math, listen to vegan and political podcasts, and recently I’ve started learning Arabic. I’m so glad to be at Ellis this year, and I look forward to working with our staff, students, and community to make this a great year!
