Bonnie Staack Second Grade Teacher
bonnie_staack@dpsk12.org | 720.424.7753 I am currently in my 15th year of teaching in the Denver Public
Schools. I have taught eight years of kindergarten and seven years
looping with my students from first grade to second grade. This is my
12th year at Ellis. I am an ELA-E teacher trained to help students
with a second language acquire English. This year I'm very excited
about working on a Service-Learning Project with my class. We are
collaborating with a group called Earth Force and will be deciding on
an issue that will involve the class in an environmental issue so that
they can be involved in community action and problem solving. I am one
of the Character Education leaders at our school, a DCTA Association
Representative, a member of the Collaborative School Committee,
Professional Development Committee, and offer an after school Knitting
Club for beginning and advanced knitters. I really enjoy the diversity
that the Ellis students bring to our school.
My favorite book is
Gone With the Wind by Margaraet Mitchell and Of Mice and Men by John
Steinbeck. I also enjoy reading novels and biographies. |
