At Ellis we believe that EVERY student has the right to define, pursue and achieve their dreams. That is why we have invested in creating and maintaining a high quality Multi-tiered systems of support framework to ensure that all students get what they need to not only succeed in academic but in social emotional learning as well.


Our students engage in high quality 21st Century Learning opportunities which include:
*STEM units (Science Technology, Engineering & Mathematics). We utilize the Project Lead the Way curriculum which was supported from a Lockheed Martin Grant. Find out more here!

Students in Kinder through Second Grade participate in the GROW program ( Hands on Science) and includes:
Classroom Field Trips & Family Nights to
*The Butterfly Pavilion
*The Botanical Gardens
*The Denver Zoo
Hands on instruction in thematic science units supported by Specialists in the field
Participation includes free membership for the entire family for one full year at the above mentioned locations

At Ellis, we believe in educating the whole child. That is why visual arts, physical education and technology literacy are available to all students weekly in grades K-5. Some of our events to showcase these essential learning outcomes include:

*Technology presentations at family nights and school assemblies
*Running Club Race Day
*Field Day and Family Picnic


Ellis provides targeted instruction in Reading at each student’s instructional level which includes
*Small Group Reading Instruction
*Access to Intervention Support
*Rigorous Thematic Literacy Units from Benchmark Advanced

Ellis provides high quality Math Instruction using the program Bridges that prioritizes conceptual understanding and exploratory learning through choice (bridges link here?)


As a TNLI school, we provide pathways to biliteracy for students that have been exposed to Spanish in the home. We also provide students exposed to Arabic in the home an opportunity to maintain and further develop their native language.

In addition, we are planning multiple pathways to biliteracy for ALL students beginning in the 18-19 school year which include:
*Spanish as a second language classes
*Arabic as a second language classes

Social Emotional Learning
Because we believe that social emotional learning is just as important as academics, we prioritize creating a safe and welcoming learning environment through implementing:

*Cross Categorical K-2
*PLEX (Pragmatic Language and Executive Functioning) 3-5
*ECE Model I (Integrated ECE half day program including three year olds)
